Mental Performance

SMSCS supports a wholistic approach to athletic performance.  Individual and group sessions are available in the area of mental training. Topics in this area include:​

  • Emotional Control (stress management)-stress, managing energy, coping strategies

  • Goal Setting-goal setting, realistic short & long term goals, monitoring goals

  • Self Talk-self talk and negative thoughts, thinking patterns

  • Routines-effective use of routines before, during and after competition

  • Ideal Performance State-factors and barriers to achieving IPS

  • Attention Control-focus and concentration

  • Parent-Athlete-Coach Relationships
